Document templates

The document templates implemented in Livespace can help you to automatically create similar documents. Using pre-defined templates of Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) or PowerPoint files (.pptx) completed with appropriate fields, you can quickly generate ready contracts, offers, sales statements and pro form invoices.

By default, the available templates concern deals and this is the only tab where this new feature is implemented. However, if you want to use templates on the profiles of persons or companies, you can also add your own templates and define their usability.

Managing document templates requires administrator permissions.

How to turn on the document templates in Livespace?

In order to launch the document templates support:

  1. Go to Account settings.
    account-settings
  2. Choose Files from the menu on the left.

  3. Turn the file templates on.filetemplates

After turning it on you will be able to generate a new document from the selected template.

How to generate a document from the template?

To generate a new document based on the template:

  1.  Go to the chosen profile (e.g. deal’s or company’s profile)

  2. . There will be the tab Files in the right column – the list of all files added to this particular deal. If you previously ran the document template support, you will be able to use the option Add from template:addfromtemplate

3. You can change a file name and decide if you want to automatically save the generated file on the wall.

4. Download the file. When you open it, the template will be filled with proper data from the profile.

Adding your own document template

  1. Go to Account settings.
    account-settings
  2. Choose the Files tab from the menu on the left.

  3. Choose the Add template button on the right.

  4. Fill the template name and choose to which element you want to relate it to (a person, company, deal or space).

  5. Then press Template file and choose the file from your computer.
